| Nike Invitational Day One
The evening session held room for just two distance events, but the Ladies managed to make history in one of those events. In the meet-opening swim, the 800-yard freestyle relay, a University of Kansas quartet set the Kenyon Athletic Center Natatorium record with a time of 7:29.42. Kenyon's entry in the same event placed third with a time of 7:30.78, which was a new College record. The Ladies responsible for that time were Lauren Brady (Tyngsboro, MA/Phillips Exeter), Tina Ertel (Halle, Germany/Sportgymnasium Halle), Rebecca Wenzlau (Palo Alto, CA/Palo Alto Senior), and Danielle Arad (Yorba Linda, CA/Tarbut V'Torah). They erased the old Kenyon mark of 7:33.38 set at the 2004 Division III national championship meet. It went without saying that the time was also good for automatic qualification into this season's NCAA DIII Championship.

Unseen writings show anti-racist passions of young Arthur Miller
Professor Bigsby, whose latest novel, One Hundred Days: One Hundred Nights, was published last week, does not believe that the author would have objected to the short stories being published. However, he said: "The novel where he was working through his own life and his first marriage, and where the characters are extremely recognisable, he wouldn’t have put that out there." News of the discovery came as Miller’s first play on Broadway, The Man Who Had All the Luck, opened at the Donmar Warehouse in London. Life imitates art — Miller’s father, Isidore, a shopkeer and manufacturer of women’s wear, lost all his money in the stock market crash of 1929 — Miller relied on odd jobs to pay for his studies, including being a radio singer, truck driver and warehouse clerk — Miller had to tour army camps to get ideas for his screenplay for The Story of GI Joe (1945) — he had avoided being drafted because of a football injury Source: National Endowment for the Humanities; University of Michigan) .
Danish Court Tells ISP To Block PirateBay
I'm a Dane, and I can tell you that 90% of the population can choose between 3 or more ISP's. The problem is that the other ISP's tend to follow (don't ask me why) like they did with allofmp3.com and mp3sparks.com. You can say what you want about allofmp3, TPB and how useless a DNS block is, but it's a very slippery slope. This is pretty much as pure censorship as it gets (which is forbidden in the danish "Grundloven" just like in the US Constitution), and if it's allowed to continue there is no telling where it will end. Day Of Reckoning Arrives For DP Blog
1)We need some formatting to be allowed in our posts. Every post currently looks like a big RUN-ON SENTENCE. 2)This is separate matter from Liz's new blog software, but that stupid "News, Sport, Gossip" etc. bar above Liz's photo (and on every page at the DN) looks out of place and hopelessly OUTDATED. It's ugly. Plus it gets even uglier when I have to increase the font size on the DP to read things and it goes all out of wack. The DN's recently hired web guru needs to do some serious remodeling on that bar of links...and a lot of other stuff to to mane the DN look at least Web 2.0. 3)I don't mind a captcha, but I too (like Galt, I assume) am having a little trouble reading it. The black on gray is difficult to see. Maybe something could be done to help us old farts who wear glasses and are going blind trying to read the captcha.

This success is a result of careful research of the regional financial community for an outsourcing platform and the managed services to complement it. EastNets Service Bureau is a comprehensive outsourcing platform established at a secure data centre in a fully-owned subsidiary of the Dubai Technology and Media Free Zone, delivering EastNets solutions to banks and financial organisations throughout the Middle East, North Africa, Balkans, Pakistan, and Afghanistan. Hazem Mulhim, CEO, EastNets said: 'The high level of service and security that EastNets solutions offer has brought it a growing number of clients. Today we have 100 customers on the EastNets Service Bureau and are contracted to implement our payment and security solutions through the platform for more customers by the end of the year.' Increasingly high standards imposed by the international banking industry, government legislations and recent security threats, have required banks to increase investments in their technology systems and those supporting it.
A year later, Chief Illiniwek debate remains at U. Illinois
Other University traditions have not been retired along with the Chief. The traditional music that was played when the Chief was the symbol is still played by the Marching Illini during halftime of sporting events at the University. "There are people who say there's too much expression of the Chief Illiniwek still," said Tom Hardy, executive director for University relations. "They don't want him on homecoming parades, and they would change performance music from the band that pre-dates Chief Illiniwek because they associate it with the Chief." Miranda Jimenez, junior in LAS, said she feels that using the traditional music of the Chief is encouraging people to hold on to the negative ideology the Chief represented. "I think (the music) evokes the same ideologies of having a person perform traditional dances, and that's offensive," Jimenez said.
